Grateful to @wufilmseries for NAZA last night. A chilling, trenchant documentary largely from perspective of Israeli intelligence agents, NAZA is imperative viewing. Free Oct. 21 at 7pm; Sat. Oct. 24 at 2 pm; Sun, Oct. 25 at 2 pm

Happy 25th Birthday to MULHOLLAND DRIVE, one of my all-time favorite films!
In honor of its anniversary, I edited a collection of feminist essays for @FilmQuarterly—the articles are FREE to access at present, authored by @serxaphym, @lwestengard, and @LoriMarso! @ucpress#Lynch
And with @Reckless_Edit on ONLY LIVING PICKPOCKET IN NEW YORK, our #NYFF coverage is officially complete. It's been a great year, thanks to all our brilliant contributors.
#NYFF: With the urgent pace of a Safdie production sans the graphic violence, Noah Segan's THE ONLY LIVING PICKPOCKET IN NEW YORK jolts forward like a rusting express train. Honored to review for @reverse_shot@TheNYFF@MovingImageNYC.

Honored to conduct an exclusive interview with indigenous artist Sara Flores @hyperallergic. Currently representing Peru @la_Biennale, Flores is featured in a doc that premiered @TIFF_NET and comes stateside @DOCNYCfest next month.

#NYFF: oh, the feral children of France! Bruno Dumont’s RED ROCKS reminds us of how inimitably the director captures childhood affect and antics. I didn’t buy the Romeo & Juliet conceit, but the class tensions on the Riviera were compelling. @TheNYFF@FilmLinc
#NYFF: Sandra Wollner’s EVERYTIME felt like Tom Tykwer meets Ursula K. Le Guinn. If a bit uneven, it was ultimately as moving as it was unabashedly strange. @TheNYFF@FilmLinc
#NYFF: Almodovar's BITTER CHRISTMAS is, as any film from the director, a smorgasbord of dazzling visuals. But it's also one of the boldest excavations of the writing process and pesky ethics therein. Bonus points for a top-shelf striptease scene. @TheNYFF@FilmLinc@todoalmodovar
#NYFF: If loosely inspired by Mrs. Dalloway, Chuko and Arie Esiri's CLARISSA is a stunningly original film that that poetically cumulates like the best Woolf prose. Sophie Okonedo is brilliant. @TheNYFF@FilmLinc@dailyokonedo
Sherrilyn Ifill said it best: “This is a time in which we need a much more robust definition of what it means to be a citizen.” Ava Duvernay’s latest doc—14th—is both an edifying and disquieting account of our country at its best and worst. @TheNYFF@avaduvernayfans
Next week at @WashULaw: a panel on how self-adornment intersects with sex work stigma and transphobia. Honored to be surrounded by such brilliance! @BloomsburyAcad
Just read this devastating piece by Nikole Hannah-Jones—which took tremendous humility and courage to publish. Having mentored students in St. Louis’s poorest districts for two decades, I’m less shocked by her account than newly indignant. nytimes.com/2026/09/20/magaz…
