After reviewing the equipment transition plan submitted by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors’ Elections Department, the Recorder’s Office proposed a more efficient approach that would’ve allowed for the removal of Recorder-owned voting equipment before Emergency Voting, run by Elections, begins.
We disagree with the BOS’s Election Department approach in proceeding with their own transition and routing schedule. As a result, Recorder-owned voting equipment, may be removed from Vote Centers during active voting hours. We anticipate and expect the replacement equipment owned and operated by the Elections Department will already be in place, allowing voters to continue casting ballots without disruption.
