Proud to join this letter and demand answers on how the corrupt fraudster Flávio Bolsonaro was able to enter the U.S. so quickly, and what role the State Department played.
The American people deserve answers about why the Trump Administration is harboring an election denier and fraudster.  @RepDinaTitus and I are leading a probe into how the State Department helped Flávio Bolsonaro flee Brazil and why he was granted a U.S. visa.

Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas’ changed the course of Mexican history. His work helped end 70 years of single-party rule, and he did it by organizing  millions of supporters and forming a new political party focused on fighting corruption, crime and poverty.   Last summer I had the chance to have dinner with him. His contributions to democracy in Mexico helped forge the country it is today. May he rest in peace.

Our country has lost a giant. Dolores Huerta was a civil rights champion and labor leader whose early work with the United Farm Workers changed the lives of migrant workers. She dedicated her life to fighting for the rights of immigrants, women, and Latinos until the very end. I will never forget when she visited me in Chicago during my mayoral run to show her support. I’ll forever be honored to have called her a friend. May she rest in power, and may we continue her work.

While you’re struggling at the gas pumps because of Trump’s failed and illegal war of choice, he’s getting richer off it. He is shameless and corrupt.
FIRST ON CBS: As President Trump boasts about how much money the U.S. oil and gas industry is making from the war with Iran, the president's personal holdings in oil and gas are now worth between $22.5 million and $81.6 million, compared with $12.6 million to $46 million at the end of 2025, according to a new report by Democrats on the Congressional Joint Economic Committee. cbsn.ws/47IN9un

Congratulations to Lula on his resounding victory in the Brazilian election! A true champion for democracy and workers in Brazil, Lula defeated the Trump-backed authoritarian movement despite its voter suppression tactics. Trump and Rubio must respect these results and stop undermining Brazilian elections.

This is a shameful escalation of repression in Ecuador, as Noboa arrests a former presidential candidate after banning her party from contesting elections. I stand with Luisa and all pro-democracy lawmakers and advocates in Ecuador against the Trump-backed authoritarian campaign sweeping across our hemisphere.
ECUADOR 🇪🇨 Luisa González, the former presidential candidate of Revolución Ciudadana, has been arrested on bogus allegations. This escalation of authoritarianism follows President Noboa’s move to bar González and the biggest opposition party from contesting November’s elections.

This afternoon my staff was alerted by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) that a suspicious letter addressed to one of my district offices was intercepted at a local post office. We have given USPIS consent to open and test the letter. My staff is taking all possible precautions handling mail, as these unnerving incidents continue across the country. I am thankful for the diligent work of all law enforcement agencies involved in the investigation. These attacks will not intimidate or deter us from serving our constituents.

I’m cosponsoring the National Archives Protection Act because our history needs to be protected. This bill by @RepKevinMullin and @RepChuyGarcia will prohibit the closure of federal records centers by the Trump administration and other politicians—including the National Archives facility in Chicago.

I’m glad @bradlander was released from IDF custody, and I call for the rest of his delegation to be released immediately. This is just a glimpse of the horrific reality Palestinians face in their homeland every day, terrorized by Israeli soldiers and settlers and unable to live freely. And it’s why I continue to demand that the Israeli government release all arbitrarily detained Palestinian prisoners, and for the U.S. government to stop enabling occupation and genocide of the Palestinian people.
I’ve been released from IDF custody with a “warning,” apparently because of my public profile (I told them I wasn’t even a congressmember yet, just a nominee). But several dozen rabbis & participants harvesting olives with me are still in detention. For harvesting olives. They should all be released immediately. To be clear: Palestinians face far worse consequences every day. These detentions by the IDF are one more attempt to undermine Palestinians’ right to harvest their olive groves, travel on their roads, and live in their homes. Yet one more element of escalating, and very clearly state-sponsored ethnic cleansing. We’ll update on their status as soon as we hear.

Nothing can ever bring Silverio Villegas Gonzalez back, and his death has left a hole in our community. Thank you to Our Lady of Mount Carmel for honoring his name, and the names of others who have died, because of our broken and inhumane immigration system. In their name, may we keep working toward a future immigration system that is humane and protects us all.
The names of Villegas González and other people who have died during federal immigration operations were written on crosses outside Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Melrose Park Sunday. chicago.suntimes.com/immigra…

I am heartbroken for the students, parents, and the entire Oregon community. Another senseless tragedy has taken the lives of our children at a place where they should be safe. Congress must act to end this gun violence epidemic. May the victims rest in peace.

Once again, a white supremacist targeted a community just because of who they are. I stand in solidarity with the Indian community and with my colleague @CongressmanRaja and his family. People have the right to feel free and safe to worship without fear of violence.
My family and I were worshipping at our Hindu temple in Aurora on Sunday when a white supremacist attempted a mass shooting targeting Indian Americans. I'm grateful to those who helped prevent a tragedy, but we must come together to confront the hatred that put so many innocent lives at risk.

This raid against Rep. Omar is an extreme abuse of power and an escalation of a years-long campaign against her. Trump should not be allowed to politicize the federal government against elected officials. I stand with @Ilhan.
