slop used in this way is little more than a pejorative for comforting us that humans still matter in the old methods of scientific discovery.
increasingly “slop” is a therapeutic watchword for self-soothing logic
here: i didn’t read the paper bcs it’s slop, rather than i didn’t read the paper bcs the volume and capacity of machine creating it exceed the info / attention capacities of my brain/body
