.
2 Corinthians 9:7 says, “God loves a cheerful giver.”
There is a reason it says giver. Biblical charity comes from a willing heart. It is not the same thing as politicians taking somebody else’s money, spending it, and then calling themselves compassionate.
Republicans generally put more emphasis on work, personal responsibility, private charity, family, and limiting dependence on government. Democrats generally support a much larger government role in providing income, housing, healthcare, food, education, and other necessities.
Again, do not take my word for it. Open your Bible and decide which direction better matches what Scripture teaches about work, responsibility, charity, and stewardship.
Then there is the difference between good and evil.
Isaiah 5:20 says, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness.”
That verse ought to make every Christian uncomfortable, because our culture has gotten very good at changing the names of things.
Abortion becomes healthcare. Sexual immorality becomes pride. Men entering women’s spaces becomes inclusion. Keeping sexual ideology away from little children becomes hate. Biblical marriage becomes bigotry. Standing on Scripture becomes extremism.
Changing the label does not change the truth.
I am not telling you that every Republican is a Christian. They are not. I am not telling you the Republican Party is perfect. It is not.
Jesus Christ saves people. Political parties do not.
But Christians still vote, and that vote is a choice between competing values, policies, and directions for this country. When you walk into that voting booth, you do not get to separate your faith from everything else you believe. If the Bible is really the Word of God, then it should be the measuring stick, not something we pull out on Sunday morning and put back on the shelf before Election Day.
So forget Republican and Democrat for a minute.
Which party is fighting harder to protect unborn children?
Which party is defending the reality of male and female?
Which party is more closely defending biblical marriage?
Which party is standing up for parents raising their own children?
Which party talks more about work, responsibility, family, and less dependence on government?
Which party is more willing to defend Christianity publicly instead of treating biblical beliefs like something people should be ashamed of?
Then ask the question that matters:
DOES YOUR PARTY MATCH YOUR BIBLE?
Because if you keep having to twist the Bible to make it agree with your politics, maybe it is not the Bible that needs changing.
Maybe your politics do.
I know where I stand.
I will never tell you the Republican Party is perfect. I will tell you this: when I compare the two parties on morality, life, family, marriage, sex, parental authority, religious liberty, personal responsibility, and the basic biblical order of society, the choice is not difficult for me.
And if you call yourself a Bible-believing Christian, it should at least make you stop and think before you vote.
Do not vote because your parents voted that way. Do not vote because your friends do. Do not vote because some politician made you angry, scared, or promised you something.
Open your Bible.
Read it.
Believe it.
Then vote like you believe it.
