I had 2 presentations, of which one was recorded. I talked to a fair few new people, and know some of these already.

I have done my homework: I am 100% sure this comes from patients.

Their justification is that they 'represent' 1000s of patients. That's what they keep telling me, but there's no proof they represent an official patient organisation with official numbers....

I happily make this 99.999% of course. These tweets and responses on X are clearly not 'isolated incidents', particularly if they argue that 'they represent the voice of a lot of patients'.

This is really true. I cannot talk at the same scientific depth to a patient as to a fellow scientist. We need clever people and deep scientific and clinical knowledge and novel techniques only few understand to find solutions.

While we had a terrific scientific @ISLCPAIS meeting this week, organizers got serious threats from patients. This is truly unacceptable and we hope that the other 99.9% of patients stand up for scientists and clinicians trying to find diagnoses and cures, and against online hate
