It is the difference between systems built on fear and systems built on courage.
Fear of losing your place.
Fear of being fired.
Fear of speaking the truth.
Fear of the people above you.
Communism is the ultimate fear-based system.
And ultimately, the fear of physical violence.
But free societies are built on something completely different:
Courage. Hope. Truth. Creation.
You do not need to terrorize free people into producing. You give them room to act, to compete, to build, to fail, and to try again.
These are not just different political systems.
They are completely different architectures of human relations.
One produces prisoners of fear.
The other produces free people.
One is organized around negative emotions: fear, envy, resentment, suspicion.
The other around positive ones: courage, trust, hope, ambition, love of life.
And I have good news for you:
The age of fear-based systems may be coming to an end.
Such systems thrive when there are too many people relative to the amount of productive work available.
When your place in the system is scarce, you fear losing it.
But those days are ending.
We are entering an age of too few people.
Every productive human being will become more valuable.
And that changes the architecture of society.
Our Western Civilization already has the values needed for this world: the dignity of the individual, freedom, property, merit, voluntary cooperation and human creativity.
When people are scarce, you don’t need fear to control them.
You need to attract them, trust them, empower them and let them build.
Free people rather than prisoners of fear.
Positive emotions rather than negative ones.
Courage, hope and creation – rather than fear, envy and resentment.
A completely different society.
A completely different architecture of human relations.
Communism is the enemy of free people everywhere.
