On Saturday @ClaireHanna will officially become the next Leader of the SDLP.
Claireās politics is rooted in hope, ambition and bringing people together.
This is an exciting time to get involved in our mission to build something new. We hope youāll join us!
Stormont can't keep going from one crisis to the next.
Our new paper, Politics for the Common Good, sets out practical changes to end political deadlock and make the Executive work better.
Better politics now. Towards a New Ireland.

ALT Image: Stormont is stuck: We have an Executive who still can't agree a Budget, public services struggling to cope and political parties spending more time arguing with each
other than working together. Ordinary people are dealing with
everyday problems while Stormont struggles to get
anything done.
ALT Image: No one party should be able to shut down Stormont: We've seen what happens when one party refuses to take part. Stormont stops working
and everyone pays the price.
We want to change that. If a party refuses to nominate a First Minister,
the next eligible party should get the chance. And we'll change how the Assembly Speaker is elected, so one party can't stop the
Assembly doing its job.
ALT Image: Two Equal Leaders = Two Equal Titles: The First Minister and deputy First Minister have exactly the same powers. They should be called Joint First Ministers
Its time to abandon Stormont.
Not abandoning devolved Government as some want, but moving it away from the absurd, inaccessible mauseleoum at Stormont to somewhere more fitting and more accessible.
Its part of an SDLP plan to build politics for the common good

I'll be honest: I don't care. And I'm not alone.
This place has no Budget and my constituents are fed up being told that DUP psychodrama is more important than their public services.
Is there anything more to life than post-Drumcree meltdown?
Because you wouldnāt know it if you tuned into a lot of our media - notifications today from just one outlet (before you even turn on the radio).
Teachers, nurses and other public sector workers still don't have a pay deal for this year thanks to the Budget fiasco.
And if the Executive can't agree a Budget they won't get one in time for Christmas wages and their winter fuel bills.
This should be our focus - not parades.
Daniel McCrossan had a few things to say to Jim Allister on the BBC last night.
People are sick and tired of the shouting, division and constant threats to bring down Stormont.
There are real problems facing our communities. Surely itās time we started focusing on fixing them?
āBig daddy Jim Allisterā, āReverend Gastonā and Jamie Bryson, Daniel McCrossan had a few home truths for the DUP at Stormont yesterday.
But beyond the exchanges, Danielās message was clear: Itās time to move beyond division and focus on issues affecting peopleās everyday lives.
An incredibly tough, but exceptionally rewarding career and helping to make a real difference in your community. I would urge people from all backgrounds and especially under-represented groups to apply. A successful service will be a representative one @SDLPlive
After the toxicity, today the SDLP Opposition gets the focus back to what matters: people's lives and services.
And in a first, I've an op-ed in the @News_Letter explaining how we build together rather collapse into divison.
Delighted to be there š

Both relief for ordinary people on the Garvaghy Road and sadness that our politics got dragged into this fiasco for weeks.
The work of tackling division becomes more urgent - but most urgently, setting a Budget and offering people some sense of leadership.
Pleased that Drumcree march canāt & wonāt take place. It should never have got permission + it must never do again.
This has been a deliberate & wasteful problem, creating tensions & resource issues for the sheer hell of it.
Time to get back on track & to drown out the wreckers
GAA club co-founder in East Belfast, David McGreevy, is running to be an SDLP MLA.
Six years ago, David helped build a club open to everyone, regardless of background.
Now heās running to represent East Belfast at Stormont for the SDLP.
SDLP Leader @ClaireHanna is on the Garvaghy Road, standing in solidarity with local residents.
She has spoken to the Chief Constable and Secretary of State to make clear: allowing this parade to proceed violates the rights of people who live here. They must see sense and stop it
