ALT Hottest part of the day is typically between 1-6 pm, so avoid outdoor/strenuous activities, especially during these hours If you do not have AC: visit stores, malls, libraries, movie theaters, etc to stay cool Monitor those more sensitive to heat: elderly, sick, very young, and pets Avoid walking pets in the afternoon to early evening when sidewalks will be very hot Double check your vehicle to ensure that no people or pets are left inside when parked in the sun Stay hydrated and take cooling breaks if you must be outdoors
