Our MaxPreps Game of the Week presented by T-Mobile is a fun one tonight.
Oak Ridge, the host school, is just minutes from our headquarters and takes on its biggest rival, Folsom. The two schools are separated by only 8 miles.
This is what high school sports are all about

I enjoyed doing this story. Have known @PlacerAthletics FB coach Joey Montoya & brother @SMontoyaMP of @MaxPreps for years.
This book and potential movie is rooted in their grandfather's remarkable coaching impact of the Placer Hillmen

Really appreciate @SacBee_JoeD diving into the history of Placer and my book "The Hillmen." A true story about the 1981 football team. This means a lot and hopefully one day it will be on the big screen.

I input my teams stats every week as the HC on MaxPreps. I want my stats valid.
I don’t know a single coach that is inputting MaxPreps stats. Usually it’s a parent or student.
Hudl often logs incorrect stats on their own, so if you’re looking at that, could be that.

A lot of rankings questions pop up this time of the year. This is a good reminder for those looking at @MaxPreps
One thing to know about the MaxPreps football rankings: Teams start with a preseason rating. After each of their first 4 games, 25% of that preseason rating is replaced by current-season data. After game 4, the rankings are based entirely on this season’s results. Why some jumps

She checks all the boxes: Outside of the incredible talent, what I love most about Kate is...
She is the hardest worker on the field
Loves to be coached
She doesn't just enjoy the game, she thrives on the process of becoming the best.
She still has two more years at Pondo 🤯
Put this on repeat. The SJS is a massive hotbed for softball talent.
Ponderosa's Kate McCartney has committed to OKLAHOMA. She will be a junior at Pondo this spring.

Amazing to see the differences in what high school football means to communities throughout the country. The Massillon Tigers are at the center of this community.

Every week we’re on the ground telling the stories behind some of the nation’s top programs.
Brentwood Academy (TN) might have the most high-tech high school weight room we’ve seen. 🏋️
