Several years ago, Rob Preece, a long-time marathon runner, developed a soreness in his leg that wasn’t going away. Eventually, a lump appeared in the same spot. A biopsy revealed something he never could have expected: a rare and aggressive form of sarcoma called UPS.
Rob’s doctor,
@AngelaHong of
@Sydney_Uni, told him about a clinical trial supported by
#StandUpToCancer and led by
@DrDavidKirsch and
@EverettModing that was testing a new treatment approach for UPS. Rob enrolled in the trial and now, more than 2 years later, he is cancer-free and enjoying life, including frequent outings with his granddaughter to get ice cream. “This trial was life saving for me.” ❤️
The results of this SU2C-funded clinical trial represented the first significant improvement in the treatment of this form of sarcoma in decades. Learn more about Rob’s story and this cancer research breakthrough at
