Microsoft is offering voluntary buyouts to about 60,000 employees, roughly a quarter of its workforce. This move aims to cut staff costs as the company shifts its spending toward AI data centers.
The program is open to eligible staff in the US, Canada, India, and the UK, while data center workers are excluded. Microsoft plans to spend around $190 billion on AI infrastructure in 2026.
