Happy Birthday to Sam Raimi 🎉 Sam’s signature style of frantic camerawork, off-kilter humor and cartoonish, over-the-top violence has been recognized and praised by his contemporaries and fledgling auteurs. Starting off as an indie filmmaker, he was no stranger to adversity and was familiar with the challenges of making a movie, thus he became incredibly resourceful and practical. Raimi, a fan of comic book stories, immediately got in touch with Sony Pictures back in 2000 when they were looking for a director for their new Spider-Man film. His passion for the character was infectious, and Sony knew he was right for the role. Sam continues to direct and produce films, entertaining both longtime fans and the average filmgoer. He is 67-years-old today!
