📌 This week on Santiment Weekly, just delivered to subscribers:
🚨 Binance lost ~$6.3B from its hot wallets on Oct 29, the largest theft in crypto history.
$BTC had spent five days flat, then closed the week −5.6% at $76,565.
$SOL −7.3%,
$ETH −6.3%.
$XMR was the only major asset to finish green, the second week running that privacy held up.
📤 Coins poured off exchanges: ~19,200 BTC and ~421,100 ETH across the week. Part of that is the stolen funds, part is holders moving to self-custody.
😨 The crowd broke. The ratio of positive to negative BTC posts hit 0.41, the most negative in three months. Positive posts barely moved, while negative ones jumped 74%. It’s a fear spike, not a loss of conviction.
🫠 ETH’s MVRV slipped below 1.0, so the average holder is now slightly underwater. BTC still sits 46% above cost basis.
📰 Also this week: the Fed held rates, ICE is bringing Hyperliquid-based perps to the US, Polymarket was drained for $2.65M, Ripple won an OCC trust charter, Strategy posted a $19.53B paper-gain quarter, and more.
