We take TOP 3 in the second PEC final, and overall TOP 3 for the entire tournament.
If you look at the result objectively, we played very consistently — top placements in both finals. We could’ve easily taken the second final as well, but NAVI were simply stronger there, just like VP were stronger in the first final.
From the perspective of mature professionalism, though, we have to admit that in TPP, in terms of overall movement/micro/teamspeak aspects, we’re either behind or only on the same level as the other top teams. Because of that, even though we’re always near the top, we’re not extracting 100% from our games. We’re missing points, losing situations that we would never lose in FPP, or situations where we would’ve wiped a team cleanly and correctly. Here, there’s still too much inconsistency and too many mistakes in certain moments.
You can feel it in the games — the “heaviness” of the gameplay drags us down to the same level as the rest of the top teams, and that’s why we’re not able to fully close out either the first or the second final.
The conclusion is simple: we need to keep tryharding and keep improving in TPP. If we stay at the same level, we’ll just become part of the pack of other really good teams. For me, that’s unacceptable, because anything other than victory equals defeat.
Thankfully, the season has only just started. Ahead of us are PGS (hopefully with the full roster), then EWC, then more PGS events, then another PEC, and finally PGC. We’ll see what we’re truly capable of this year.
