A revealing report from @SenTedCruz and @SenateCommerce on the enormous consultant industry that has grown around E-Rate, collecting an estimated $200-400 million in annual fees. It raises important questions about incentives and who is actually benefiting from the program.
E-Rate was designed to help schools and libraries access high-speed, reliable internet—not create a cottage industry for consultants. Our new Senate Commerce investigative report estimates consultants receive $200–$400 million annually just to help navigate the program. It’s time to ask whether this version of E-Rate is still serving its mission. commerce.senate.gov/wp-conte…

Thank you to @DailyCaller for highlighting parents’ growing concerns about screen-based instruction in K-12 schools. Yesterday, @NTIAgov filed comments with the @FCC documenting testimony on EdTech's impact on learning & development & the role of federal E-Rate subsidies.
Exposure to pornography, stunted development and anxiety are just a few of the issues that come with the over-reliance on technology in classrooms, Assistant Commerce Secretary @ArielleRothNTIA told the Daily Caller News Foundation. Roth revealed that more than 280 teachers, students and child development experts believe that screens in classrooms harm children’s development and their mental health, according to comments she submitted to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on Tuesday. This comes as the agency considers reforms to a $3 billion program that subsidizes internet access for schools and libraries. Roth believes involving parents more in their education may help solve the problem. Read more @DailyCaller dailycaller.com/2026/10/14/a…

Why did @WearForbidden's videos go so viral? Perhaps it's because the account so successfully showcased people's frustrations with the D.C. foreign policy "Blob" that so often call for more war instead of rebuilding America. “I think it goes back to America First,” @WearForbidden said, arguing that “a lot of our elected officials put foreign governments, foreign-policy interests, and lobbying organizations before the American people.” Great piece by @jack_mcgeever
EXCLUSIVE: Viral Meme Mocking MAGA Hardliners Was Made By America First Conservative The creator of @WearForbidden, a viral political satire account, spoke exclusively with the DCNF about the character widely known as “MAGAtard,” an exaggerated MAGA hardliner who reflexively rationalizes whatever new political talking point comes his way. The creator drew a distinction between the political principles he associates with America First and what he sees as an increasingly personality-driven MAGA culture — a divide that has become more visible as conservatives clash over issues including the Iran war. “My values are conservative,” the creator told the DCNF. Polls says Americans dislike data centers, but will their disdain affect how they vote in the midterm elections? Widespread public discontent toward the projects has blurred partisan lines, with the White House, Republicans and Democrats ending up on different sides of the issue. The White House believes voters will focus on “day-to-day” issues, one source close to the Trump administration told the Daily Caller News Foundation. Meanwhile, AI safety experts and leftist groups think the election may serve as a referendum on out-of-touch tech elites. Read more @DailyCaller 👇 dailycaller.com/2026/10/05/d…

.@JensenHuang at the @theallinpod Summit disputes the AI whistleblower's claims that AI will "kill us all" by 2030: "You're able to innovate quickly. You're able to execute quickly, and and America is able to lead and to do it safely, I think those are those are false choices. But safety is obviously important. There's a matter of of internal control that I think he was speaking to. "Obviously, the the Coxon whistleblower is very serious matter. Whenever you have a whistleblower, you have to take it very seriously. I thought Coxon had great courage to put out put out what his concerns were, and even then there were some issues that were kind of conflated within that. I think the whistleblowing is fine. I think the the scientific prediction about the future is less fine because it's not grounded on science, obviously, and it was expressed by a scientist, but it was obviously not grounded on science, and so I take issue with that. But obviously, the whistleblower part of it, you know, I think there's just a whole bunch of stuff: pausing, pacing. Those are all voluntary things that they could do if they feel that their company is out of control."
Holy crap POTUS just phoned in @JensenHuang live on stage at All In Summit We will not lose the ai race! And whatever Dario said this weekend won’t stop our progress This made my morning! $NVDA

Trump Admin: Nothing Stop The (AI) Train
Trump world sources have told me that President Trump has zero interest in regulating or reining in AI and data centers because he believes their rapid development is part of his presidential legacy.

New: Nearly three weeks after the White House's deadline to complete its voluntary AI framework, much of the industry remains in the dark on the voluntary testing regime. Even companies who attended the Aug. 4 White House briefing have unanswered questions. Some new details in my latest report: - At the White House briefing, officials distributed paper copies of the framework but told attendees they could only take notes. The written framework still has not been shared with companies after the meeting - The written framework included language about not restricting the development and use of open models, but officials verbally communicated that the framework would only apply to closed-source models for the time being—a specification not explicitly clear in the written version, contributing to confusion after the event - The White House has not shared further details with companies about a public AI event in August related to the framework that officials floated during the briefing

New: The Trump administration is hosting companies at the White House on Tuesday to discuss next steps for its voluntary AI framework, which a spokesperson said was completed by its Aug. 1 deadline. It's unclear whether the framework is now in effect. Companies were lobbying for specific language on issues including open-source as late as last week. W/ @steph_palazzolo
