Today, at Secretary Hegseth’s direction, the Department of War is announcing FORTRESS America—a national insurance policy for the American homeland. Every major military installation in America will generate its own power. We are bringing our critical supply chains home. We are building strategic reserves deep enough to fight through disruption. We are securing the high ground and the airwaves—our satellites, our spectrum, and our ability to see, navigate, and communicate with one another.
.@SECWAR “Today—at my direction—we are launching FORTRESS America—a national insurance policy for the American homeland. FORTRESS stands for: Federal Operations for Resilience, Troop Resources, Energy, Supply, and Survivability. And here is what FORTRESS calls for: Every major military installation in America is going to generate its own power. Independent of the civilian grid. If an adversary takes down the grid—by cyberattack, by sabotage, by any means—our bases stay lit. Our aircraft keep flying. Our command centers never go dark. We are bringing our critical supply chains home. The rare earths, the specialty metals, the semiconductors, the propellants—mined in America, refined in America, built in America, by American workers.”

Don't be fooled. They're building big AI datacenters [IDF military installations] at all of our military bases.

When I read this I immediately think there is way more to this, some form a threat we are not aware of that would knock our power out while allowing COG to function.

To protect thy own. About time we step up the game. What a great idea. Why has no one else thought of stuff like this? Safety and security.

The butt hurt is strong with this speech, my feed has been filled with nothing but hate about every aspect. Bots are in full force, it’s amazing to see. He stirred the ant hill on this, which means people are pissed about losing money and a weakened America.

This MUST be expanded to include our FOOD SUPPLY. I hope that the reasons are obvious. Food supply = Nat Sec.

Uh huh. And building out AI data centers on military bases - because then it doesn't matter what the hoi polloi have to say to the contrary - and hooking them up to Palantir and every other piece of the total surveillance police state.

Hey, why does that image on the folder look like a throwback to Paul Baran's node architecture, i.e., packet-switching. Wouldnt' have anything to do with Bitcoin as "cyber-defense" does it? IYKYK

I've witnessed over 4 decades worth of DOW previously DOD leadership and plans always stagnant, this presentation Secretary of War Hegseth inspires enthusiasm. Love all the project announcements and trust each will be implemented with full attention to success. You boys got 2+ years left to set these strong US ideas in stone.

Include water purification too, as a minimum. And fuel supply chain analysis (for base and vehicles/ship). They should have same standards.

Work with the Department of Agriculture to build mega farms at these locations as well. The military can run these mega farms for domestic production of crops and livestock. Using the latest in SI and Technology to run and maintain these farms. This can also be used to test for new farming methods that we then will interferes across our entire farming industry in this country. Time to end the monopoly of the Chinese butcher and processing plants, time for the USA to become more self reliant, and become more secure in our domestic food supply.

@drjamesbjoyce Weren't we just musing about this. a reverse of the direction of current grid sized AWG feeding bases toggle i = i * -1; // current out instead of in same with "data centers" thorium, Sonny White's Casimir chips, or some other metric engineering black recipe in the basement secured by a base over it.

Mini nuke reactors? At every D.O.W site? With the excess spilling for free into the grid, since we are already paying for it, sounds more than reasonable.

Most county gas/diesel facilities are dependent on electrical power to operate. When the power goes down, cops, public works and emergency vehicles can't refill. It is always good to have a back up generator system that kicks on when that happens. There are 3,007 political subdivisions called counties and 237 other local governments recognized as county equivalents in the US. I wonder how much it would cost to buy them each an appropriately sized generator for this purpose if they wanted one to install at their expense.
