In addition to climate economics, Nordhaus has also improved our understanding of economic growth and development. Thanks to Nordhaus, we are able to appreciate the massive positive externalities for society created by entrepreneurs and innovators.
William Nordhaus is an inspiration for me and many other students of economics. The world is a better place because of his contributions, and he will be missed. Rest in peace, Dr. Nordhaus.

A Republican Party that does not shrink the size & scope of government is of no use to freedom-loving Americans. Even worse, it is a betrayal to the values my party has stood for. I am running to provide a limited government alternative and put the the country on the right track.
Voting for Republican candidates should be a no-brainer for free-market-oriented voters based solely on policy. The problem is that most of said candidates are Trump sycophants, at least on the federal level.
I still think a Republican trifecta would be good because 1) we can get tax-cutting laws like the OBBBA passed (if Rs want to do another tax cut), 2) it would reduce Dem seats in case Dems win 2028, 3) Dems are embracing socialism, and 4) most bad Trump policies are executive.
Judge Andrew P. Napolitano has now joined the list of signers on a petition endorsing a federal Israel-Palestine based on the Swiss canton model. The others endorsers include Juan Cole, Deirdre McCloskey, and Ray McGovern.

Don Lavoie is a name that should be more widely remembered among liberal political economists. His life sadly was cut short by cancer, yet his legacy lived on in his students as well as the record of his written work. Last night one of those former students of Don - Virgil Storr - delivered a brilliant talk on Markets as Emancipators. Don stressed this point in his teaching and in personal conversation. I discuss this in my The Struggle for a Better World as well. Virgil’s talk was perhaps the best example I have seen delivering the core Lavoie message about markets as liberators from oppression.
