JULY IRON BISON 🦬 ’27 LB/WR Ryan Church Great leader. Great competitor. Huge summer for this guy! #IronBison #AlwaysForward

The @UAlbanyMBB team received a huge boost back in March when guard Zach Matulu announced he’d be returning to the program for his redshirt junior year. An Albany native and Shaker grad, Matulu comes into this season as the Great Danes’ top returning scorer, and he’s an elite defender. Matulu has worked from the ground up, starting at UAlbany as a walk-on. Now, as he enters his fourth season, expectations are high. @ShakerBlueBison @ShakerBisonBB @CoachKillingsDK

Last season’s champions, @ShakerBisonBB, was a force to be reckoned with this season, as their nucleus returned from a championship season and held their own. This season, they won a handful of games, including their matchup on the first day of the @HoophallClassic in Springfield, Mass. against a powerhouse from Connecticut in East Catholic. Featuring players like @marcmukendi2009, @__MoneyMel___, @DemandBless, Ryan Church, Sam Rayburn & Anthony Tleiji, they were definitely a force around the Capital Region. The Bison went all the way to the @Sect2athletics championship game, where they went down to the undefeated Christian Brothers Academy. However, this was a great group to watch, as they would finish with an overall record of 18-5 & a No. 23 ranking in the @nysswa. Look out for the Bison next season, as they look to have a solid crew returning.

Congrats to Marcelin Mukendi of @ShakerBisonBB on being named our newest Play of the Week winner! @ShakerBlueBison news10.com/sports/play-of-th…
