We engineer next-gen battery materials to power our electric future—from innovative mobile devices to EVs and beyond. @BessemerVP@Daimler@MatrixPartners@SHV
Sila is entering a new chapter of growth and we're excited to announce two key executive appointments:
Chris Dougher has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer after nine years leading the buildout of our Moses Lake manufacturing facility.
Gwen Hsu joins as VP, Product, bringing over 20 years of product management experience across the electronics industry. Two strong additions as Sila scales toward gigascale manufacturing.

China just paused new battery factory construction, pending a year-end capacity review — echoing the overbuilding that hit its solar industry.
The U.S. has built the other way. Battery material manufacturing here has grown steadily over the past several years, plant by plant, backed by long-term capital and policy support rather than a capacity race.
Sila's expansion at Moses Lake, Washington, backed by a conditional loan commitment of up to $1.4 billion from the United States Office of Strategic Capital (OSC), is part of that build-out: domestic production of materials for advanced batteries.

Sila has earned ISO 9001:2015 certification for our Moses Lake, Washington manufacturing facility, validating our quality systems are ready for commercial-scale production.
This reflects our ability to deliver consistent, traceable, high-quality battery materials for AI, autonomous vehicles, drones, satellites, and robotics, and is another key milestone in ramping the production of advanced battery technology for America's most critical industries.

Sila Moses Lake is "one of the few sources of anode material that isn’t encumbered by tariffs or geopolitical concerns" per @tdechant in @TechCrunch.
That matters more than it did five years ago. Militaries need batteries. Data centers need batteries. Drones, satellites, autonomous systems — this tech shouldn't run on a battery chemistry that hasn't fundamentally changed in over 30 years, built on a graphite supply chain concentrated in one country.
We're producing Titan Silicon at gigascale today to power these critical technologie with advanced power and a secure supply chain.
Battery materials startup Sila will use a $1.4 billion loan from the U.S. Department of Defense to scale production at its factory in Washington State.

Sila has secured a loan commitment of up to $1.4B from the @DeptofWar's Office of Strategic Capital to expand production of our battery materials at Moses Lake, WA.
This gives us the capital to keep ramping gigascale manufacturing in the U.S. and secure the supply chain behind our most critical technologies, which rely on advanced #battery performance -- now more than ever.
We're developing a new industrial blueprint that delivers tech sovereignty, creates good jobs, and advances American industry.

The #batteries that power #AI, defense, #robotics, and space are the same batteries that will power the next generation of EVs — and the world needs a lot more of them, made in America.
Our $300M raise will support the expansion of our Titan Silicon production capacity at our Moses Lake facility.

We've raised $300M to fund the expansion of our silicon anode manufacturing capacity in Moses Lake, Washington.
Thank you to our lead investors @Atreidesmgmt and @shv, and to continued support from our existing investors @8vc , @BessemerVP, @matrixvc, @TRowePrice, and others.
Titan Silicon drives performance across defense, AI, robotics, data centers, and space — industries that cannot exist without advanced batteries. @geekwire covers the announcement: geekwire.com/2026/next-gen-b…
Graphite, gallium, and germanium anchor our modern military power -- feeding chips, AI infrastructure, satellites, and the sensors defense depends on. Who controls these materials, controls tech supply chains. It's a national security imperative.
@RealPNavarro outlines three steps the U.S. should take: 1) back breakthrough tech, 2) pair innovators with industrial scale, and 3) move at the "speed of relevance." That's the bet we made a decade ago with batteries -- AI, defense, space, and autonomous systems all run on them. Titan Silicon is the invention that makes it possible, proven at gigascale in Moses Lake, WA -- the first facility of its kind in the West.

The problem in U.S. #battery materials has never been the science. It's been scale.
Moses Lake is proof that next-gen anode materials can be made at industrial scale on U.S. soil. Our VP of Operations Chris Dougher spoke with @SME_MFG about the path from bench top to the country's first automotive-scale silicon anode plant.

"The opportunity for the U.S. isn't to copy what's already been done. It's to leapfrog — to invent something fundamentally better, and scale it here." — @SilaGene

58% of smartphone owners are frustrated with #battery life — more than storage, cameras, or display. The answer is a materials change that's been 35 years coming. Our CEO @SilaGene spoke with @alheeti_3 at @CNET on why silicon anodes are the inflection point.
cnet.com/tech/mobile/feature…
The next generation of battery materials was invented in America and is being manufactured in America.
Our CEO and Co-founder @SilaGene makes the case in @Fortune for why this is the moment to lead — not catch up.

The U.S. #battery industry built strong cell and module capacity. Employment is at a 50-year high. 180+ facilities commissioned across 38 states.
The materials layer — where import dependency actually lives — hasn't scaled at the same pace.
That's the gap we're working on.

We invented and scaled a silicon anode that replaces a 34-year-old graphite standard — delivering more energy, faster charging, and lighter #batteries across EVs, consumer electronics, and beyond.
The transition from graphite to silicon is underway, and we're building it in the U.S.
Proud to be recognized on by @SFTribune.

Advanced materials drive major tech shifts, from the silicon in semiconductors to silicon anodes transforming #batteries. Yet, these breakthroughs only become transformative with scale.
Apple’s push to expand U.S. chip production reflects that dynamic.
