PCC @SimonFosterPCC spoke at Coventry’s second Modern Slavery Conference. The event, to mark National Anti-Slavery Day highlighted lived experience of survivors of sexual exploitation and acknowledged action being taken in Coventry. The PCC said: "I have commitments in my Police and Crime Plan that relate to modern slavery and I stand with you. "Forms of slavery have been with us for as long as we have had recorded history. An estimated 50 million people worldwide are victims of modern slavery "It will take a modern-day collaborative approach, committed, determined and tenacious - to eliminate the scourge of Modern Slavery from the 21stCentury. "Let’s be that collaborative coalition in the West Midlands. You have my full support."

PCC @SimonFosterPCC, has written to the Home Secretary ahead of the Autumn Budget, calling for an immediate overhaul of police funding. The PCC is deeply concerned that the West Midlands is continuing to be “short-changed and ripped off” by a long-standing out-of-date funding allocation that does not adequately reflect demand and need in urban areas like ours.
