Snow? Empty grandstand? No problem. Breeders' Cup Classic field? In front of 45,775 fans? No problem. It's been a blast, Sovereignty. Can't wait to see your babies coming down this stretch in a few years.

How about if I say, “remarkably, they will have names behind two of the most important people behind the reincarnated Spendthrift”?!
Spendthrift will stand two 2yo champion sons of flagship sire Into Mischief, and, remarkably, they are named after two of the most important people behind this reincarnation of the farm: B Wayne Hughes and Ned Toffey.

This may or may not apply to Forever Young, but the concept became apparent during the D Wayne era when horses started flying more, and the thinking was “off the plane” worked, but staying around for another race wasn’t as good. Now, FY wasn’t impressive in NY to begin with…

We see you, champ. I waited around late to see Sovereignty come back to the barn and a hero's welcome. And by "hero's welcome" I mean "plenty of carrots."

Extraordinary performance from T O Elvis after a 6-month gap, and Sakai was just as extraordinary.

Englishman ran a helluva race, but maybe he didn’t need to be so close to a 20-1’s early fractions?

Btw, he only does this with me. Not Cynthia or anyone else.

Just a random statement/observation: I’ve been studying thoroughbred pedigrees for more than 50 years, and, more recently, working Malinois pedigrees for two years. The similarities in approach to matings among the best in each sphere is stunning.

Because he’s bred to bite, you can also teach him not to bite. He’s only 8 weeks here and learned that quickly.

Btw, this is an important distinction between a working-line dog (bred to bite) and a show-line dog bred for breed standards.

Yoshito Yahagi on Forever Young: "What's truly extraordinary is that a horse weighing over 570 kilograms (approx. 1,257 pounds) can consistently deliver performances like his without showing the slightest sign of problems with his legs. That's something beyond human comprehension. We've been able to follow his racing schedule exactly as planned throughout his career."
