🇸🇰 Minister J. Blanár co-chaired the commission with Valery Falkov, Russia’s Minister of Science and Higher Education. At the end of the meeting, they signed a protocol setting out areas for joint activities. Energy was one of the main topics discussed, including oil and natural gas supplies and cooperation in nuclear energy.

🇸🇰 Minister J. Blanár: I confirmed our commitment to fulfilling the obligations under the existing contracts concluded in 2008 for gas supplies and in 2015 for oil supplies. We outlined to the Russian side the current EU sanctions that we are obliged to comply with. At the same time, we reaffirmed our willingness to discuss these issues, exchange information and maintain constructive relations.
