Excited to share that our review on the clinical implications of CIN is out! This is particularly relevant for our patients with high grade serous ovarian cancer. @TeamOvary_MSK @ocrahope
Chromosomal instability is present in 60–80% of cancers, but isn’t targeted by current treatments. In @NatRevClinOncol, Emerging Leader Award winner ⁩@Samuel_Bakhoum highlights recent advances that could lead to therapies for difficult-to-treat cancers. nature.com/articles/s41571-0…

Exciting and groundbreaking work @peter_j_park and @jakelee0711 . We're thrilled you have decided to continue your science here @CompOncMSK and look forward to welcoming you into the lab very soon!
Beautiful story @nature from @peter_j_park and @jakelee0711 showing how mis-repaired breaks from Estrogen Receptor binding lead to translocations -> dicentric #chromosomes -> bridge formation -> #ecDNA -> oncogene amplification in #Breastcancer nature.com/articles/s41586-0…

Huge thank you @PapaemmanuilLab for chairing this inspiring symposium. To all the Emerging Leaders: we look forward to working with you in the future. Does 'phenotype' absence in the word cloud inferred from the talk transcripts reflect where we need to focus in this field?
It has been a blast and honor to host the @CompOncMSK Emerging leaders symposium, meet our awardees & celebrate the way computational oncology is pushing our understanding of cancer biology and informs future practices in clinical oncology. @MSKCancerCenter

Excited to share our work on #mRNAvaccines in #pancreaticcancer @Nature in a trial led by @TheVinodLab, @EileenMOReilly & the incredible team @MSKCancerCenter: nature.com/articles/s41586-0… Check out the epic tweetorial by @TheVinodLab 👇👇👇 - some thoughts below as well...
1. ENTER #mRNAvaccines for #pancreaticcancer! Long-term #PDAC survivor story PART3. "Do #PDACs REALLY have vaccine neoantigens (NAs)"? (aren’t they lowly mutated?) If each patient = own NAs, how do you vaccinate? Maybe mRNA? But how? @Nature nature.com/articles/s41586-0… 👇🏽 [1/32]

The study overall uncovers the multi-faceted nature of how tumor cells and immune cells interact in ovarian cancer that will hopefully inform future immunotherapy clinical trial designs and targets for new therapeutics.

This led to uncovering highly specific immune evasion mechanisms as a function of the mutational process. Site of disease also plays a role in immune cell states.

What did we find? Mutational processes are key factors in shaping the immune response in ovarian cancer. We ’subtyped’ the tumors using the pattern of mutations in whole genome sequencing and compared their cell intrinsic and cell extrinsic properties.

Given that disease is often widespread we also were careful to sample other intra-peritoneal sites of these patients to enable primary-metastatic comparisons.

We took a multi-modal approach to profile cancer genomes, single cell states of the tumor microenvironment with scRNASeq and single cell spatial organization of tumor tissues.
