If XLS-20 NFTs didn't exist, then the XRPL would have been bloated with XLS-14 hack NFTs
Introducing proper NFTs was the right call, if at minimum to protect the network
It's interesting that
@JoelKatz thinks Ripple got it wrong, after having been to FuzzyCon, and after
@EvernorthXRP highlighting Bear Champ and Fuzzybears (results of XLS-20)
Are people in Ethereum there because of the high fees, the slow transactions, and the risky smart contracts? Or are they there because it's the cultural place to be?
A network is more than tech, it's also people and we're all people, from retail to institutions
Ripple didn't get XLS-20 wrong, what they got wrong was choosing who to partner with back then, people who stagnated our NFT ecosystem for years
NFTs underperformed on the XRPL not because of broader market dynamics, but because of poor leadership and poor understanding of culture
It's funny just to think of all the positive impacts NFTs have had on the XRPL, impacts which many still can't grasp
Even
@Vet_X0 who started with NFTs now leads community at the
@XRPLF
The XRPL is lucky to have NFTs
