Which brings us to the elephant in the room- and the one Western Conference matchup that should keep every Spurs fan awake at night: the Utah Jazz.
Watching Utah drag us into an overtime slugfest while down two of their best starters wasn't just a fluke regular-season scare; it was a tactical blueprint.
The Jazz have constructed a towering, physical roster specifically designed to bludgeon teams inside, and their sideline seems to anticipate Mitch Johnson’s every rotational tick before he even makes a substitution. If the playoffs started today, Utah beats us in seven games. They outmuscle us on the glass, they overwhelm our paint, and worst of all, our bench seems utterly unbothered by our glaring refusal to counter with size of our own.

@PaulGarciaNBA noted that 54% of Victor Wembanyama’s paint points so far have come on lobs (vs. 27% last season).
If they start sliding Reed next to him and letting Wemby roam from the 4, the West better be ready for a different problem. Which begs a larger schematic question: Is Mitch Johnson simply unwilling to experiment with two-big looks?
