Dante talking - Loft, His approach & 2 strike hitting. Upon the hundreds of hours of these talks over the last 5+ years, this 2 mins and 30 seconds of simplicity, is probably the most difficult for a hitter to buy into. When to play out front and when not too!

We’re still arguing about weighted front feet, knob to the ball, swing up, swing down, launch angles, and which way your pinky toe should point. 🤦‍♂️😂 Meanwhile, Elon Musk is over here making cars drive upside down and defy gravity. 🚗🚀 But yeah… let’s spend another 400 comments arguing about whether the hands go back or forward first. 🤣🤡

Exaggerate the hell out of it first. This hitter came in getting stuck with his hands. He would load them back, but as his body moved forward, his hands would just sit there. No fluidity. So instead of trying to make a small adjustment, I went to the extreme. I had him start with his hands way out in front of him, then load them ALL the way back before swinging. The goal wasn’t to swing like this forever. It was to teach him how to MOVE! Let hitters explore movement in space. Let them feel the extremes. Once they understand the movement, you can simplify it back down. What was once difficult to feel becomes easy to repeat. Sometimes you have to exaggerate a movement to simplify it. Don’t be afraid to go to the extremes! HIT WITH AN EXPERT. NOT AN INFLUENCER. #StanceDoctor #HittingCoach #BaseballHitting #SoftballHitting

DEEP ISN’T LATE. OUT FRONT ISN’T EARLY. And deep doesn’t mean steep. Out front doesn’t mean swinging up. There’s a BIG difference between where you make contact and whether you’re actually on time. You can let a ball travel deep and absolutely crush it. You can catch a ball farther out front and absolutely crush it. BOTH can be good timing! Being late is when the ball gets past your ability to make a quality swing. Being early is when you’ve committed too soon and can no longer make a quality adjustment. It’s not simply about where the ball is when you hit it. Stop confusing contact depth with timing. The goal isn’t to hit every ball at the same point. It’s to be able to hit the ball HARD at different points while maintaining a quality swing. That’s what good hitters do!!!!! Hit with an expert, not an influencer

A little 2018 rewind. Still true today
Video Tips- Check your HEEL PLANT. a hitters head should stop forward movement within 1 or 2 frames after heel plant. Drifting during the swing can decrease Launch time, swing speed and swing path which could drastically reduce consistent hard contact,. #StanceSwings

1-Mechanical adjustment: you may see it almost immediately. Give it several sessions to determine whether the hitter can own it without thinking about it. 2-Movement-pattern adjustment: give it roughly 3–6 weeks of consistent exposure before making a strong judgment, assuming you’re seeing signs that it is trending correctly. 3-True ownership: test it under velocity, variability, decision-making and competition. A movement that only survives tee work isn’t really installed yet.

Here’s a video I sent to one of my remote hitters who’s experiencing some frustration with lives after doing so well in practice. When a new hitter comes in, they obviously want to see quick results. I can usually get them improvements pretty quickly. Yes, you heard that — quickly. But permanent change takes time. Once stress gets reintroduced — live ABs, games, results matter — there’s usually a little breakdown. The hitter wants to revert back to what feels normal and comfortable. That’s part of the process. Don’t quit- relax, and keep plugging away. I’ve been doing this a long time. There is no “QUICK” solution. Train with an expert, Not an influencer

Hey Mr & Mrs Perfect, you’re not always gonna be perfect ! Many hitters constantly train inside and outside as different contact points. Sometimes that fastball is gonna get deeper than you want. Can you still drive it?? As hitters get more advanced, they will benefit greatly by training a little harder: Can you hit the inside fastball up the middle… and hit the outside fastball up the middle… with almost the exact same timing? That means learning to handle the baseball deeper instead of always having to catch the inside pitch way out front. Is it comfortable? No. Will it always look pretty? No. But games aren’t perfect. You’re not always going to catch the ball exactly where you planned. If you can learn to do damage even when the ball gets deeper than you wanted, now you’ve got another way to survive—and another way to be great. Start on the Tee, Flips, Machine- Live Arm Train with an expert, not an influencer

This is why I like the Step-Back Drill for hitters who need to feel a better load. As he steps back, watch what happens to the front hip. He gets a better load into the back side without just pushing his body forward. Then from that position, he can unwind into the swing instead of pushing through the ball. That’s the goal. A better load. A cleaner unwind. Less push. Try it. It may help. If it doesn’t, don’t use it. If you don’t like it… you don’t have to comment. 😂 But if you love it, let me know. Train with an expert. Not an influencer.
