“Any government that is serious about countering antisemitism, promoting Holocaust remembrance and education, and standing with Jewish communities should have a seat at the table.” Read my remarks at the Foro latinoamericano de combate al antisemitismo and IHRA preliminary conference in Buenos Aires here: state.gov/releases/office-of… @POTUS @SecRubio

I strongly condemn the attack on Temple Emanu-El-Beth Sholom in Montreal—the third incident in under two years. The congregation’s resilience in proceeding with Shabbat services is inspiring. Such attacks are becoming all too common in Canada and underscore the need for the government to take meaningful action against antisemitism. We welcome the hate crimes investigation to hold the perpetrators accountable. montrealgazette.com/news/loc…

As @POTUS and @SecRubio have made clear, we stand with our friends on the right side of history. I congratulate Paraguay for formalizing their commitment to joining @TheIHRA. During my visit to Paraguay, I thanked President @SantiPenap, Foreign Minister @rramirezlezcano, and Interior Minister @EnriqueRieraE and discussed concrete ways to combat hate. Thank you for your incredible friendship and hospitality.

Today, we mark the anniversary of the International Religious Freedom Act. As President Trump has said, the United States was built on the idea that all human beings have a God-given right to practice their faith according to their conscience. We will always defend the right of every person to practice their faith without fear.

A joy to welcome my parents alongside @StateDept colleagues to affix a mezuzah to my office doorpost. As my father Rabbi Kaploun explained, this mezuzah will remain a symbol for the hard work which the State Department continues to do on behalf of all people.

Hatred cannot be tolerated anywhere. I extend my prayers to the families of those killed in the attack and wish a speedy recovery to all those wounded.
Devastating news coming out of Karak, Jordan. Praying for the victims, their families, and all those affected by this depraved and brutal attack on a house of worship. Attacks on Christians continue to escalate worldwide and must be stopped.

We must always remain vigilant. Thank you @AAGDhillon and your great team at @TheJusticeDept.
Today, along with @USAO_UT Melissa Holyoak, @CivilRights announced charges, including a hate crime, against a man who attempted to bomb a synagogue. If you target people of faith or houses of worship with violence, you will be caught & prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law! justice.gov/opa/pr/utah-man-…

Spot on from my friend and colleague @USAmbUN
ICJ ad hoc "judge" Navi Pillay is tipping the scales on the ICJ’s current proceedings on Myanmar, intending to lower the legal threshold for proving genocide so that weakened and false standard can later be weaponized against American and allied soldiers whenever they raise a finger against terrorists that hide behind civilians. Pillay: We see your agenda and we'll be watching the ICJ’s handling of these proceedings very closely. As our actions against the ICC demonstrate, we will not allow globalist, faux-judges to weaponize the law against our troops, undermine our sovereignty, or put American lives at risk.   The Nobel Committee has disgraced itself by awarding the Peace Prize to Pillay. What a shameful choice to "honor" someone who represents an "international community" with a leftist, globalist, antisemitic agenda. President Trump is showing a better way, by actually ENDING WARS, bringing hostages HOME, and making PEACE.

Addressing a roomful of Special Envoys for Combating Antisemitism in Dublin last week, @StateSEAS Ambassador Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun asked an important question. Can you say that your government is, in fact, following policies combating antisemitism? It begs the larger question of how Western democracies are working to protect their Jewish communities – and protect the very concept of a democratic society itself. WJC’s 15th SECCA Forum, held this year in Dublin, was made possible thanks to the support of the @EU_Commission.

I welcome the UK's announcement that it has accepted all 27 recommendations. Now, the challenge lies in implementation and enforcement.
Antisemitism is a scourge on society and we are committed to stamping it out. We’ve accepted all 27 recommendations of the Bell Review, including encouraging schools and colleges to adopt the IHRA Working Definition. We will continue to promote its adoption internationally.

Shameful. Auctioning a Nazi-looted religious artifact to the highest bidder cheapens the memory of the victims.
A Nazi celebration in Oslo. Today in Oslo, the auction house "Valkyrie Historical Auctions" is expected to hold an auction of a fragment of a Torah scroll that was looted by German SS soldiers during the Holocaust. It is a parchment sheet from a Torah scroll that was desecrated, looted and defaced by the SS, and was even used as wrapping paper by SS soldiers. At the same time, the Norwegian government is expected to cancel its financial support for visits by Norwegian students to extermination camps. Auctions of sacred texts looted by the Nazis: IN. Visits to extermination camps: OUT. Israel expects the Norwegian government to put an immediate stop to this moral obscenity.

Deeply troubled by the break-in at a synagogue in Paris on Saturday. Every house of worship must be a place of safety and peace. Our thoughts are with the congregation, and we stand with French authorities as they investigate this unacceptable act.

Under President Milei's leadership, Argentina has transformed into a leader for the hemisphere and the world. I congratulate Argentina for becoming the first Latin American country to hold @TheIHRA presidency—and for ensuring it won't be the last. @JMilei @pabloquirno @alejandrito @rramirezlezcano @itobisono
Today, we hosted a historic event at the Embassy of Argentina in Washington, D.C., under Argentina’s 2026 Presidency of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), reaffirming our country’s unwavering commitment to Holocaust remembrance and the fight against antisemitism. We had the distinct honor of welcoming President Javier Milei, accompanied by Secretary General of the Presidency Karina Milei, to Argentina's home in Washington for the first time. In his remarks, President Milei pledged "zero tolerance for antisemitism," underscoring Argentina's firm commitment to preserving historical memory, defending freedom and democratic values, and standing alongside Israel and the Jewish people. We extend our special gratitude to U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright and Ambassador Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun, U.S. Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism, for their participation and meaningful remarks, reflecting the strength of the partnership between Argentina and the United States in advancing this shared cause. We were also honored to hear remarks from Argentina’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship Pablo Quirno; Marcelo Mindlin, Chair of Argentina’s 2026 IHRA Presidency; and Paraguay’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Rubén Ramírez Lezcano. As Ambassador Oxenford emphasized in his opening remarks, “Argentina has established itself as one of the clearest and strongest voices internationally in the fight against antisemitism.” In a significant diplomatic milestone, Paraguay and the Dominican Republic announced their intention to join the IHRA, reflecting Argentina’s regional leadership and marking an important step toward expanding the Alliance’s presence in Latin America. Today's gathering reaffirmed that Holocaust remembrance must translate into concrete commitments, stronger partnerships, and collective action against antisemitism across our hemisphere. Argentina will continue to stand firmly alongside those who defend freedom, democracy, and human dignity. In the face of antisemitism and hatred, there can be no room for silence, indifference, or neutrality.

I applaud Paraguay for announcing its intention to join @TheIHRA. As antisemitism surges across the hemisphere and around the world, Paraguay is taking a stand in this fight. Thank you to my friend FM @rramirezlezcano for your continued partnership and support of Jewish communities worldwide.

A great colleague.
