One of the hardest parts of parenting is helping your kids recognize their own gifts.
School came easily to me. For my 13 year old Tripp, not always. Reading has been a struggle, and soccer isn’t exactly where he shines.
But yesterday, I got to watch my son completely in his element.
He climbed into a million-dollar cotton picker with people he’d never met. Then took the wheel of a combine with a 50-foot soybean header.
The confidence, curiosity and ability were incredible.
Not every kid’s talents show up on a report card or scoreboard.
As parents, we want our kids to do well in school, but we also need them to know their worth isn’t measured by grades or sports.
I feel so incredibly blessed to be part of an industry that has given me so much, but even more grateful that it’s given me the opportunity to share these experiences with my kids, introduce them to amazing people, and watch them discover their own passions along the way.
And I couldn’t be prouder to be his mom.
