Today I took part in a shoot for a brand and it was one of the best experiences in my 16 years of doing content creation.
Back in the day when I used to do shoots with companies I’d be hella nervous I was going to fuck it up cause I was just an idiot who chatted shite to a camera… of which I still am! 😅
But to remember my first ever time on a proper shoot about 15 years ago, I was so nervous to the point it knocked me sick.
I’m not a nervous person by any means, but the idea of staring down a camera and being out on the spot was something that messed with my head so much! I couldn’t remember lines, I got all flustered, it was awful.
But over the years I’ve kinda just become more and more used to it and to my strength of… just being me.
Not trying to read a line or present in a way that I’d think the brand would want any Tom dick or harry to in some sort of professional manner!
But to do it my way and provide exactly what the brand wanted but in the most natural way!
And honestly it’s produced by best branded content I’ve ever been involved in.
If I could go back to younger me, I’d just say relax, take your time, you’re not supposed to be a pro at this… be yourself.
And it would’ve taken such a pressure off my shoulders ❤️
Anyway, thanks for reading, sorry for wasting your time. If you taking anything aways from this…
It would be the advise my Dad always told me,
Just take a breath and take it one step at a time 🤙
