Utah Republicans packed the court this year with two extra seats, plus pressured a justice to resign, all in anger at the state Supreme Court helping strike down their gerrymander. New reporting on one of the justices:
#EXCLUSIVE: Newly appointed Utah Supreme Court Justice Michael Menssen signed the effort to repeal Utah’s anti-gerrymandering law, Prop. 4 in February, seven months before he would become a justice. He did not recuse himself from the latest case involving the redistricting plaintiffs against the legislature. @abc4utah abc4.com/news/politics/insid…

I admittedly never bothered posting about how error-filled those Wedgewood PDFs were, but I take some comfort in verifying just now that, when someone shared their shock Mississippi “poll” in a group chat the other day, I responded “but that's a random trash poll”.

what an unreal statement after releasing that video, claiming they want the race to be “about substantive issues”
Ramaswamy took credit for the anti-Acton video after his central OH event today. "It is an ad from our campaign, and the thing that I want to say is that I would love for this race and this election to be about the substantive issues that impact Ohioans, and unfortunately, Amy Acton has been hiding from those issues." abcnews.com/Politics/amy-act…

.@50plus1news had evidently conducted extensive data analysis and reporting to establish that Wedgewood was fraud. *And* it appears from their article that Wedgewood tried to protect themselves and their lies until they couldn’t (making their statement today unconvincing.)
We were investigating Wedgewood for faking their data and emailed them for comment this morning, ahead of publishing the findings tomorrow. They are trying to cover up their fraud with the "we were doing a social experiment" excuse. Full story here: blog.fiftyplusone.news/p/fif…

This is all a reminder of the ways in which you could influence begging markets with fake scams, at a time where big news outlets like CBS News are incorporating these markets into their coverage and graphics.

And that’s not a coincidence!
A GOP-backed measure in South Dakota would require constitutional amendments to receive 60 percent. Had this rule already been in place, all four amendments approved by voters since 2020 would have lost instead, including Medicaid expansion. boltsmag.org/measures-to-req…

These are some of the biggest 'triage' news so far. GOP is signaling they don't think they can flip one of the districts that DeSantis re-gerrymandered in South Florida. And that they don't think they can hold the NC district Chuck Edwards retired from in scandal this summer.
TRIAGE NEWS: @CLFSuperPAC is axing its reservation to oust Dem Rep Jared MOSKOWITZ CLF will save $6M in #FL25 (Trump+9). GOP nominee is Scott Singer ALSO No Going Back PAC is triaging in #NC11 (Trump+10), suggesting they think Jamie Ager (D) will win More in @PunchbowlNews PM

They could be wrong, of course; what it tells us is how the party's numbers are at least mirroring the ones we're seeing publicly.

Marist's poll last night had Acton leading by 7% (among registered voters, by 8%). If nothing else, today's ad makes me think GOP internal mirror that.
Today's Vivek misfire on Action aside, I have heard there may be something to the public polls sometimes showing Acton slightly better positioned than Brown (and I wonder if today's blowup would only exacerbate that).
