Orlando Roche Commits to FIU
2027 G Orlando Roche has committed to FIU after a productive junior season at Belen Jesuit, where he averaged 21.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.4 steals per game.
Roche earned First Team All-Dade recognition and was named to the Source Hoops Class 5A Second Team All-State. He also earned Miami Herald Athlete of the Week honors during the season.
The 6’4” guard made his presence felt with Team Miami (FL) this summer, establishing himself as one of the better players on the Puma NXT Pro 16 circuit.
Roche is an all-around guard who can create off the bounce, get downhill, finish through contact and knock down perimeter shots. He also creates for others when defenses take away his scoring opportunities.
His value extends beyond the ball. Roche uses backdoor cuts, relocation and floor spacing to create openings for himself and others, while his willingness to make the extra pass keeps possessions moving.
Defensively, Roche stays in front of guards, anticipates passing lanes and competes on the glass.
FIU is getting an all-around guard with proven production, scoring ability and playmaking who has shown he can impact games against high-level competition.
