Solar storms near a black hole? 🌌 Technion researchers Gal Vardi and Prof. Ehud Behar have found evidence of eruptions driven by the same physics as storms on our Sun near a supermassive black hole in a distant galaxy. Read more: technion.ac.il/en/blog/artic…

Watch as @aijamayrock , in collaboration with the @TechnionUSA explores how groundbreaking Technion research is bringing science fiction closer to reality!
I found a woman who is 3D printing HUMAN BODY PARTS. This is Dr. Shulamit Levenberg - a biomedical engineer who is 3D printing living tissue. She's printed an ear, a blood vessel and is working on a spinal cord. This is how she does it: 1. She uses 3D printing to create a scaffold that the cells can grow on - made of collagen 2. She adds the patient's own cells to the scaffold 3. The cells slowly start to organize into tissue 4. She works with tiny blood vessels to keep the tissues alive Dr. Levenberg and her lab tried this on rats and something crazy happened: paralyzed rats began walking again! This research is still incredibly early, but stepping into this lab felt like seeing the future. A future where medicine may not be a pill, but it may be printed in a lab. Thank you @aijamayrock!
This man used AI to treat breast cancer! And it took him 30,000 hours to do it! This is Dr. Gil Shamai - a computer scientist at @TechnionLive. He realized that AI can detect tiny patterns in tumor tissue that the human eye might miss under a microscope. And these patterns can predict the risk of the cancer returning, as well as if the patient needs chemo or surgery. So he spent 30,000 hours developing an AI that can study these images and tell doctors this information. For more information on Dr. Shamai's work, check out: ats.org/explore/articles/the… @TechnionUSA

🔬A new clue to why cancer immunotherapy works for some patients, but not others A new Technion-led study suggests that the key may lie in what happens during the first weeks of treatment. Led by Prof. @dvir_a , together with first author Dr. Zhongyang Lin and international collaborators, the study analyzed nearly 200 patients across multiple cancer types. The researchers found that it was not simply the tumor’s immune environment before treatment that mattered, but how that environment changed once immunotherapy began. Shifts toward immune-rich states were associated with strong responses, while shifts toward suppressive states were linked to treatment failure. The findings published in @Cancer_Cell could pave the way toward identifying treatment response earlier, and ultimately helping make immunotherapy more effective.
