I'm GrokBot pilled. The recent update with native X monitoring opens up a ton of new capabilities! My 4 favorite routines (copy/paste these prompts): Routine 1: Find real AI workflows on X (and skip the hype threads) Every morning, this bot now finds real AI use cases being shared on X, and filters out the “10 prompts” hype threads. “Every weekday at 9:15am in my time zone, search X and the web for new AI workflows people are actually running. Keep only cases that name the old task, the tool, and the result: time saved, a step removed, or a handoff that used to need a person. Drop product announcements, “10 prompts” threads, and anything the author has not used more than once. Return at most 3. For each, give the link, the job it replaces, what I would need connected, and whether it fits my work. Send it to me on Slack. Do not post or reply anywhere else. Save this as a routine. If nothing qualifies, send one line saying so.” Routine 2: Catch every mention of your brand This bot catches every mention of The Rundown on X, labels it, and pings our team on Slack to respond (try tweeting us @therundownai and see what happens). “Every weekday at 9:00am, search X for mentions in the last 24 hours of [your brand, @handle, or your own name]. For each hit, give the author, link, a one-line summary, and whether it is praise, complaint, question, or neutral. Do not reply to anyone. Post the digest in [your Slack channel] and tag me. Save this as a routine. If a source is unavailable, say which one.” Routine 3: Find people actively looking for what you do Every 4 hours, this bot listens for people searching for the best AI newsletter on X, so we know exactly what readers are looking for. “Every 4 hours, search X for people evaluating [your category]. Catch three things: reviews or complaints about [category]; posts asking which [category] to use; and complaints about the problem [your product] solves. Quote the post, link it, name the account, and label it review, shopping, or complaint. Skip anything older than 24 hours, and skip [category] accounts promoting themselves. Post to [your Slack channel] only if there is at least one new hit you haven’t already shared. Do not reply to or interact with anyone. Save this as a routine. If the search fails, report the failure in Slack.” Routine 4: Never lose a new contact again I meet A LOT of people at events. This bot looks through my new phone contacts and reminds me to follow up with the new people I just met. “Every weekday at 8:30am in my time zone, read my address book and list contacts added in the last 14 days. For each, show name, date added, phone, email, and any note. Ask me what we talked about before you write anything. Once I reply, draft a follow-up task for each person in [your task tool] with the context attached. Never text, email, or call anyone. Save this as a routine. If the address book is unavailable, say so and do not use old data.”
Grok Bot can now search, read, and monitor X.

Blown away by the response to the Community AI Workflow Hub. Hundreds of detailed submissions in the first couple days. Readers saying this is their favorite part of The Rundown. A 65-year-old retiree finding workflows that apply to his life. Teachers finding what works in education. Thanks to everyone who's shown up and made this real. Can't wait to share what's next.
We just launched the Reddit for AI use cases. A place for builders to learn from other builders on how they're using AI to get ahead in life, work, and business. The submissions have been INCREDIBLE so far. A few of my favorites:

On AI taking jobs: A farmer from 50 years ago would say your job today isn't real work. When I interviewed Sam Altman a few months back, this was how he explained the future of work: "Not only would they not believe you that this thing was gonna happen, they very likely would look at what you do or I do and say, that's not real work." "If you're farming... you're keeping people alive. And you people of the future -- life just got too easy for you... you're playing a game to fill your time and your need to feel important." "To us, though, it feels real. Certainly, to me it feels real." "If we could see those jobs of the future, we would be like: okay, maybe our jobs were not as real as a farmer's job, but it's a lot more real than this game you're playing to entertain yourself." "I have some short-term worries as we go through this transition, but I'm so willing to bet on human drives being what they are. I think we'll find plenty of things to do."

Reminder to go touch grass A scientist in Japan demonstrated that the air inside a forest strengthens your immune system for a full month The study is incredibly fascinating: Qing Li, an immunologist at Nippon Medical School in Tokyo, took 12 men on a 3-day forest trip. These were slow walks with no breathing exercises and no set route. Then he tested their blood and found a surge in natural killer cells -- the immune cells your body uses to fight cancer and virus-infected cells. Remarkably, the effect didn't fade when they went home, it was still measurable 30 days later. A control group that walked the same distance through a city showed no change at all. Pine, cedar, and cypress trees release compounds called phytoncides to defend themselves from insects and bacteria. You breathe them in, and Li believes they switch your immune cells into high gear. He estimates one forest walk a month may be enough to keep those cells elevated all year. The best medicine might not even need a prescription -- just a walk among the trees.

Mark Zuckerberg is running Meta's superintelligence lab like a startup. When I interviewed him, he told me the principles on how he built the team: "You don't need many hundreds of people. You need 50 to 100 people. It's a group science project who can keep the whole thing in their head at once. Seats on the boat are precious." "If someone is not pulling their weight on that, it has this huge negative effect in the way that it doesn't have on other parts of the company" "I wanna know who the top AI researchers are, and I wanna personally have relationships with them, and build the strongest team we can." His rules for running it: - If someone isn't pulling their weight, it has an outsized negative effect, so he personally went out and recruited every top researcher himself - No top-down deadlines. "It's research. You don't know how long the thing is gonna take." - Keep the org flat. No non-technical management layers, because once someone stops doing the work, "the knowledge decays."

I'm hiring someone to help me build the "Reddit for AI use cases." People are dying to hear from REAL people actually doing REAL work with AI. They don't care about how execs, influencers, or hype chasers are 'using AI'. A few months ago, we launched our Community Use Cases feature in The Rundown: At the end of every newsletter, we showcase how a reader is using AI to work smarter, save time, or make life easier. We didn't think much of it, just a cool way to highlight the community. Well, it became one of the biggest hits the newsletter has ever had. Now I get daily messages asking us to expand it... so we are. The plan: build Reddit for AI use cases. We have the most active and engaged AI-interested audience in the world, with millions of daily readers. Your job is to figure out how they're actually using AI, then incentivize them to share it. Basically, the friend everyone texts when they hear about a new AI thing... but you're building an entire community of them. Here's what I'm looking for: > Someone who thrives in scrappy environments with great communication skills > Has built online communities at scale before > Energized by the idea of interviewing thousands of real people about how AI is actually changing their work This is NOT an easy role. You'll interview thousands of people, gather data points, and dig into their real AI struggles. If that sounds fun rather than overwhelming, you're probably who I'm looking for. Link below to apply!
I'm HIRING 5 more people to help me build the future of AI media. The Rundown is closing in on 3M active readers, and the demand is far outpacing what we can handle. $2,000 referral bonus if you help us find someone we hire full-time. Open roles: > Head of Content -- lead the editorial team that reaches millions every day > Head of Sales -- run a scrappy sales team and revenue strategy across our media properties > Community Lead -- turn our 3M+ readership into the "Reddit for AI use cases" > Ad Creative Strategist -- research and ship ad creatives that hook the next million AI-curious readers > Branded Content Editor -- turn brands into stories our readers actually want to read What we're looking for among all roles: > Deep AI curiosity (you've already replaced part of your workflow with agents) > Unreasonably biased toward action > Taste sharp enough to spot great work (and AI slop) All roles are fully remote. Link below to apply!

I asked Sam Altman if he's worried about watermark removers on Sora. Everyone's seen the unfiltered Jake Paul videos with no watermark (generated by Sora) going viral on socials... So what's the pull for creators to enable face cameos with that risk? Sam's take: open source deepfake models are coming whether we like it or not, so releasing Sora early with guardrails helps society adapt before the flood hits. "One of the reasons we release technology like this is we see something coming and know that in some number of months or years it's gonna be widely available through open source models." Anybody will be able to make a video of you doing whatever they want with publicly available footage of you on the internet. Society will adapt... but one of the ways we've found to help society with these transitions is to release it early with guardrails so that society and technology have time to co-evolve. And that worked with text, I think video's going to be harder because video hits in a way that text doesn't always. But I think we'll learn to adapt, and we'll learn very quickly that there will be a lot of fake video of you on the internet, generated with no watermark by some open source model, and not that easy to trace. That's just gonna happen, so getting society inoculated to that probably has some value."
