Frank "Gags" Gagliano, the legendary coach who developed numerous top-tier collegians and Olympians, has died at the age of 89.
At the NCAA level, Gagliano coached at programs such as Manhattan (assistant), Rutgers (assistant) and Georgetown.
During his 16 years as the head coach of Georgetown (18 years in total), the Hoya men won 23 BIG East Championship titles, produced 140 All-Americans and won seven NCAA individual titles.
At the pro level, Gagliano led, helped and pioneered the creation of multiple elite training groups such as Nike Farm Team, Reebok Enclave and Oregon Track Club. He was also the longtime head coach of New Jersey-New York Track Club.

Oregon's summertime signee has officially been revealed! ๐ฆโญ๏ธ
As first highlighted by @Cathal_Dennehy for @Independent_ie, Oregon has signed Irishman, Nick Griggs! ๐ฎ๐ช
The 21-year-old distance phenom holds times of 3:48 (road mile), 3:52 (mile), 3:35 (1500), 7:32 (3k) and 13:05 (5k). ๐ฅ๐
Griggs, who is a now-former pro runner for Puma, also won the 2025 U23 European XC Championships back in December.
The Stride Report has independently confirmed the signing.
It should be noted that Griggs is recently returning from an injury. The current aim for the Duck signee is to toe the line at the NCAA XC Championships in late November.
