I’m gonna show my home state pride within this post but this night and this 2006 season is etched forever in my Louisiana memory never to be erased. Age 11 the
@Saints were born. Like the
@Braves who’s Texas League AA Team that was here in Shreveport, New Orleans brought the City and state into the Big Leagues of Sports. I watched and cared about them as much as CFB. To prove that, after Katrina and while doing my National Radio show on
@sportingnews radio I took my show down there to watch the game and also grabbed
@HeyBoyRogers and said let’s make sure we don’t miss this one. Further back in 82’ my burgeoning career took off a bit in South Louisiana. My Nightly Radio Show. It was for me at age 26 a great opportunity. So to come back after 22 years as a Network broadcaster and call the
@Saints games gave me a great feeling. Together
@SeanPayton @Drew_Brews gave the State, and the city a chance to become a Champion.
@SteveGleason blocked a punt that reinvented a Franchise and just 3 years later made their most significant win a reality. These Tee Shirts from that night I never will forget or ever stop remembering. Rogers and I walked out each telling the other how sports heals the souls. I’ll be watching tonight and be thinking about that night, my connection to it, the
@Saints and its first Mr. Saint Archie Manning, it’s Mount Rushmore QB1 and my partner yesterday
@FOXSports @DrewBrees and yeah
@espn for airing that game.
