👀 These are The Ring heavyweight ratings eight days before Ali is stripped of his boxing licence for refusing induction (April 20, 1967).
If that hadn't happened, Ali was on a collision course with Frazier for late 1967/ early 1968. Who wins?

Saw it in a theatre. His fights and so many other fights that were shown in theaters on closed circuit TV were major events. As big as any football game. A great time to be a sports fan.
📆 Return of the Champion: 56 years ago today, Muhammad Ali came back from a three-and-a-half year layoff to face The Ring's No. 1 heavyweight contender - repeat No. 1 contender - Jerry Quarry. A magical moment in Atlanta 🇺🇸🥊🇺🇸

💪 “It was always going to be a TOUGH fight. Puello is a world class fighter.”
📈 “Dalton is just a very, very good fighter now and that’s the confidence he has after chinning Subriel Matias.”
Dalton Smith is THAT GUY now 🔥

The final part of my memorable moments in boxing… a night out with Ricky and Barrera, having Mike Tyson in hysterics, and meeting Joe Frazier and George Benton in Philly…

Introducing ‘PUT TO THE TEST’ with the Smith Bros!
We Took On an Olympic Champion… BIG MISTAKE! | Put to the Test

In a brand-new series, the lads leave the podcast studio behind and put themselves in the hands of some seriously talented people to see how they measure up.
First up, it’s two-time Olympic gold medallist Jade Jones, who’s swapping the taekwondo arena for the gym floor to teach four professional boxers a thing or two about kicking!
From basic techniques and spinning kicks to a final power test, Jade puts Paul, Liam, Stephen and Callum through their paces. But can four world-class boxers handle a few kicks from an Olympic champion? And, more importantly, which brother has the biggest bottle when it’s their turn to take a shot?
There’s plenty of banter, questionable technique, competitive brotherly spirit and a few moments the lads might regret.
They came to test their kicking skills. They left with a new-found respect for taekwondo!
Who do you reckon came out on top? Let us know in the comments.

The chances Ali took with his matchmaking would be unheard of today. He literally has ZERO misses. If he wasn't fighting an ex champion, current champion, HOF or Olmypic Gold Medalist. He was fighting a top 10 Ring Magazine fighter which is a great way to assess a resume. 🐐

👀 These were The Ring heavyweight ratings when Muhammad Ali returned to boxing. He would fight Quarry, Bonavena and Frazier back to back. He would also fight, or had fought, nine of the 11 fighters on the list. That's why he's The Greatest heavyweight of all time. Untouchable!

👀 Canelo vs. Mbilli: I like Canelo by UD 12 on Saturday (116-112 range). As good an offensive force as Mbilli is, I don't think he has any surprises. Canelo cracks him with a few big singles (leads and counters) which tempers the forward advance, then controls things. Thoughts?

I spoke to Andy Lee about his final days with the late, great Emanuel Steward before Steward’s passing in 2012.
Probably my favourite interview segment ever.
RIP Emanuel 🌹

I scored it 117-109 for Foster. Or 9 rounds to 3 with Navarrete losing two extra points for the two knockdowns suffered in Round 12. Brilliant performance from Foster. Gutsy effort from Navarrete. Easy fight to score.

👀 Only caught the last four rounds. That looked like masterful shit from Shock. First Ring champ at 130 since Shakur. May get my vote for the P4P list tomorrow. Incredible run 🇺🇸🥊🇲🇽

I've seen 116-112 Smith, 116-112 Puello and a draw. It was a nip and tuck fight with no one dominant and plenty of swing rounds. Calling it a robbery is nonsense. Gomez-O'Doherty was a robbery. This wasn't even in the same ballpark and you're fooling yourself if you think otherwise.

I have Smith winning that, BUT you couldn't argue with any result. There were several swing rounds. I just hope we don't see any 118-110s.
