Born in Sicily in 1889, Frank Lentini became one of history’s most famous sideshow performers.
Born with a parasitic twin, he had a third leg, four feet, and other rare physical traits that doctors could not safely remove.
Rather than hide, he embraced it. He joined circuses at age eight, later performing with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey as “The Three-Legged Man,” even kicking a football with his extra leg.
He married, had four children, and was widely loved for his charm and humour.
