Trending Story: Woman, Liatu Samuel Dawa, has been sentenced to 14yrs imprisonment in Borno, with no option of fine, for preaching and converting a Muslim to Christianity. Interestingly, the harsh conviction was under a non-existent charge of “child deprivation” NOT, blasphemy or anything religious. According to TruthNigeria, Mrs. Liatu was convicted on count 1; under Section 210 of the Penal Code Laws of Borno State. Which deals with the “unlawful deprivation of a parent’s custody of a child.” However court arguments suggests, Liatu was accused of coercing and cheating the unnamed Muslim woman into conversion. Meanwhile, the new Christian convert, testified that she wasn’t forced, deceived or coerced. Instead, it was her own decision; Liatu also denied allegations of cheating and begged for liniency. “I am a mother, I did not intend to cheat the victim, i only advised her.” Liatu said. The argument wasn’t enough, as Judge A.B. Kumdila somehow found her guilty of unlawful deprivation of a child custody. The judgment was likely passed under this grounds because, technically preaching to Muslims is not directly a crime in both the Nigerian constitution and Sharia in Borno state.. The Christian Emergency Alliance condemned the judgement, which many Nigerians have described as gross miscarriage of justice. Ifeanyi is trending because Davido remembered his late son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, on what would have been his 7th birthday today. But some fans are dragging him for using it as a distraction, following his uncle’s subtle defection to APC. On October 31, 2022, just 11 days after his 3rd birthday, tragedy struck. The toddler reportedly drowned in a pool at Davido’s Banana Island mansion, under the nanny’s watch, and pronounced dead at the hospital. About 8 of the household staffs were questioned, while two, including the nanny, remained in custody during the investigations. Eventually on November 5, 2022, the police confirmed that autopsy said the boy’s cause of death was drowning and couldn’t prove that anyone deliberately caused his death. Ifeanyi has not been the only loss involving someone close to OBO as the singer has also mourned numerous friends and close associates over the years. His friend Tagbo died on his birthday in October 2017. DJ Olu also died just days later and was found dead inside a car in Banana Island. His bodyguard, Teejay, died in December 2020, while Obama DMW died in July 2021 from breathing problems. Most recently was his associate Tiny, who died in Thailand following a botched penis enlargement procedure. This is not the first time David is mourning his son, unlike other times fans argue it is an emotional distraction card. In 2023, controversial journalist Kemi Olunloyo in 2023, alleged was a girl, who Chioma kept dressing as a boy to deceive David, hinting his passing may have been a ‘grand’ cover up. Pa Fasoranti was a veteran politician, educationist and pro-democracy activist who became one of the most influential voices in Yoruba socio-political affairs. Between 1979 and 1983, he was the Commissioner for Finance in the old Ondo State under Governor Adekunle Ajasin. He became a leader in Afenifere to advocate for Yoruba unity and democracy. Fubara is trending because a desperate Nyesome Wike has visited Sim Fubara residence 2x in 24hrs, to woo him and his supporters to back his candidates and Tinubu in 2027; offering appointments. So apparently, Fubara was no longer interested in politics, particularly connected to Wike. He was set to be neutral after the embarrassing removal from office by godfather, Wike, or atleast his affiliation wasn’t revealed. Which meant that, with nothing to lose anymore, Fubara’s political structure in Rivers State was open for the taking by anyone with a favourable offer, including opposition parties. This is why many believe Wike is desperately seeking to win them over to work for Asiwaju before the ADC or NDC capitalises on the opportunity. This is interesting, because recently, the FCT Minister, was certain APC had won the Presidential elections across Nigeria, including Rivers State. However, for the first time in public record, Wike visited Fubara’s residence on Sunday and again today, not alone, along with; Speaker, Martin Amaewhule; Kingsley Chinda (APC Gubernatorial candidate), all 23 Local Government Chairmen. The ADC highlighted this as an indicator of panic in Wike’s grand plot for 2027. Rumors alleged that the meeting was to discuss how to accommodate Fubara’s people, in exchange for their support for Wike’s candidates; Chinda and Asiwaju. Which, Simplifieds, allegedly demanded that firstly, the 3 Assembly Members loyal to Fubara who were removed since October 2023, should be reinstated. Namely; Victor Oko-Jumbo of Bonny, Sokari Goodboy Sokari of Ahoada West, and Timothy Oruibienimigha of Opobo/Nkoro. While this was a rumor yesterday, today, speaker Amaewhule has now reinstated all three lawmakers and apologized to them, publicly. As the Wike delegation again, returned to Fubara’s residence to continue negotiations. ICYMI: Wike through speaker Amaewhule through tried impeaching Fubara twice before Pres. Tinubu’s intervention, who later declared a State of Emergency in Rivers that saw Fubara sidelined for 6-months. He was restored as governor only after agreeing to serve a single term, terminate all his appointments, field no candidates across all LGAs in the council elections, and refrain from picking his own aides or making any appointments; essentially making him a dummy governor until 2027. But Fubara has now successfully managed to flip the script. Wike is now seemingly desperately seeking reconciliation, to basically get Fubara to align his Simplified structure to Wike’s Rainbow Coalition ahead of 2027.
