I’m gonna be honest, we were just having fun and didn’t care if it was lame or not. I didn’t buy into everything myself, but I had a zune, I wore flannel, I like burgers with thick cut bacon and fries served on a metal tray in a restaurant with exposed brick.
In that era, we millennials were in college or starting the workforce, and the added responsibilities and obnoxiousness of adulthood would’ve been way more oppressive if we were so concerned about being cringy and didn’t have fun along the way.
Every year that passes has something cringy that someone bought into. Why does cultire love negativity? Going on Twitter, waxing poetic about something that doesn’t affect anyone from a decade ago? How does this serve you? Is it fun just to be mad about something? Does it do something for you to call someone stupid?
Who gives a shit? We are all cringy. Own it. Don’t try to be cool. It’s fucking lame. No one is looking at you. No one cares what you do.
Be free.
