UTAH SENATE AS OF 11 P.M.: Utah Senate Majority Leader Kirk Cullimore is trailing Democratic challenger Shana Anderson in Senate District 19.
Unofficial results show Anderson with 56.74% of the vote (16,321 votes) and Cullimore with 43.26% (12,446 votes). Results are still coming in, and the race is not final.
Cullimore is seeking a third term. If reelected, he plans to run for Senate president, a leadership role that will be open after Senate President Stuart Adams lost his primary. Sen. Evan Vickers has also said he is interested in the position.
We’ll continue following this race as results are updated.
