Nobody loves elections like the Commonwealth of Virginia

On Monday, I joined @DCNewsNow for Sunrise on The Hill to talk about the midterm elections in Virginia and the three proposed constitutional amendments on Virginians' ballots.

Virginia Attorney General Jay Jones opposes the proposed Dominon/NextEra merger. According to a transcript of the video below released by his office, Jones says, in part, "Right now, in Virginia we have some foundational issues with our energy system that we have to address: the grid is overworked, we need more energy to meet the demand that we have, and costs are too high for every single one of us. And that’s exactly why we have opposed this merger in front of the SCC, because the transaction won’t do anything to address those fundamental issues."

New: Per a release from her office, “Governor Abigail Spanberger today — in expert testimony filed with the State Corporation Commission (SCC) on behalf of the Office of Governor — called on NextEra Energy and Dominion Energy to freeze residential electricity rates for six years and triple monthly customer bill credits as conditions of any merger.”
