This is what I mean when I say the Tesla Roadster event was about so much more than the car itself.
While I was at the event, my kids were watching from our Vrbo bc they couldn’t come with me. This was their reaction to seeing the Roadster go upside down on a half-pipe, flip, and land. Look at how fired up they are. I loved being there, but seeing their faces light up like this might be my favorite part of the whole night.
You can tell your kids to dream big and believe in themselves a thousand times. However, when they actually see something happen that they didn’t think was possible, that’s a whole different experience. As a dad, that’s what gets me… I hope they remember this feeling when they have some wild idea of their own and someone tells them it can’t be done.
Who knows what a moment like this could inspire them to build one day?
That’s what Tesla does… this is why I always bring them, even though they miss school.
Beyond the cars and all the engineering, it gives my kids a reason to be excited about the future and imagine how they could be part of it.
I really hope Elon and Tesla let my kids experience one of these events in person someday. Being there was incredible, but I know getting to share that moment with them, right by my side, would mean even more.
This was the highlight of the event imo.
