The Garissa Regional Office, in collaboration with
@UNFPAKen ,
@EUinKenya,
@ActionAid and
@NorthernAidDA, is facilitating a three-day capacity-building workshop focused on strengthening community action to end Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).
The workshop brings together grassroots actors and partners to deepen their understanding of human rights and the Human Rights-Based Approach (HRBA), gender-based violence and FGM, gender and legal frameworks, referral pathways, power dynamics, movement building, advocacy, community resource mobilisation and campaign planning.
Through these sessions, participants are gaining practical knowledge and skills to better engage communities, strengthen referral and support systems, and advocate for lasting change. The training also provides an opportunity for grassroots actors to share experiences, identify community-driven solutions and strengthen collaboration among partners working to prevent and eliminate FGM.
