While @UNIFIL_ is slated to drawdown at the end of year, I want to reassure the communities of south Lebanon, who have endured so much, that our peacekeepers remain fully committed to continue supporting them, in line with their mandate, and until the mission's departure.

Under resolution 1701, peacekeepers support Lebanon and Israel in meeting their obligations. They continue to impartially monitor developments and report violations, liaise with the parties to help prevent misunderstandings & reduce tensions, and facilitate humanitarian missions.
