Blended Learning Site Visit at Lighthouse Public Schools Day 4: Purposeful Choices in Fifth Grade!
Maharlika Harrison put her learning from 4 UTeach PD courses into action: teacher-led small groups, rigorous choice boards, and clear expectations. #BlendedLearning
ALT We love to see our online course takers in person! 5 courses with UTeach - and Maharlika is pursuing a PhD - Lifelong Learner!
ALT Awesome schedule that supports Bluebonnet Fidelity PLUS Blended Learning time.
ALT Maharlika does a nice job using AI as a partner to create; it's clear that her inputs are specific, and aligned!
ALT Blended Learning frameworks like this choice board safeguard a teacher's time with small groups.
Blended Learning Site Visit at Lighthouse Public Schools Day 3: Bluebonnet Learning in Action!
In Shannon Dugan’s fourth-grade RLA classroom, CourseMojo supported students with differentiated assistance and AI feedback during Tier 1 instruction. #BlendedLearning#CourseMojo
ALT Shannon shines in our courses - she learns from us, and we learn from her! She embraces the "job-embedded" pieces in the coursework, building blended lessons for implementation in her own classroom as parts of her assignments.
ALT Students were doing the reading with various accommodations in Course Mojo and answering questions using text evidence. The sidebar is where they type in their answers or use voice-to-text if Shannon encourages that option, and they receive immediate feedback that allows them to move forward or gives them help redirecting them back to the text.
ALT Close up view at the interaction between student and Course Mojo's AI feature.
ALT Students are in a safe space, moving at different paces, and that's ok! Ms. Dugan opens up lessons at certain checkpoints, as she actively facilitates and user her ipad to make those updates in real time.
Blended Learning Site Visit at Lighthouse Public Schools Day 2: A Peek into First Grade!
Mr. Jacob Abrego’s students built math skills through choice, manipulatives, iReady, and teacher-led small groups. Personalized learning in action! #BlendedLearning#UTeachPD
A look inside Ms. Alexis Ruiz’s classroom, joined by her Associate Teacher, Ms. Toni Harris! UTeach PD loved seeing small-group instruction and purposeful and personalized practice during Lighthouse Public Schools’ Blended Learning Grant site visit. #BlendedLearning#UTeachPD
ALT Ms. Ruiz and Ms. Harris are working together to leverage blended learning time after their Tier One Bluebonnet instruction is complete. They have both completed our Foundations of Blended Learning course as part of learning how to make the most of this time and their resources, including iReady and released Bluebonnet materials.
ALT Ms. Ruiz shared this in her coursework and we loved it so much! Alexis allowed us to share an editable copy with our private Facebook of educators who have taken our courses. Awesome to see this Station Rotation Board in action!
ALT This was a planned small group lesson - made possible by blended learning rotations and an awesome associate teacher in the room. All 3rd graders were working with intention on data-driven work during the time they were not in the teacher rotation. We saw iReady practice, online and offline, and students working on released Bluebonnet practice.
ALT Student data tracking - start small with simple trackers like this one (for iReady), work hard to establish a norm that supports this as part of a daily schedule, and then expand from there.
