When droughts, floods or other crises strike, families can lose their homes, livelihoods and access to essential services. But acting early can help communities prepare, protect what matters and reduce the impact before disaster strikes.
As the 2nd Eastern Africa Dialogue Platform on Anticipatory Action (
#EADP2) kicks off in Mombasa, Kenya, the
@IFRC joins regional governments, humanitarian partners, donors and experts to advance a shared ambition: making Anticipatory Action part of government systems so more communities can act before crises escalate.
Over the next three days, partners will explore how to strengthen early action through locally led approaches, better coordination, evidence-based policies and sustainable financing.
Because when we act ahead of disasters, communities have a better chance to protect lives, livelihoods and dignity.
