99.9% of people have no idea what it's like to be in the arena, especially as a phenom or major talent.
It's insane that we position folks as a "flop" or "failure" after a handful of games.
Newsflash: Most people struggle. Even phenoms. Even folks who are going to go on to be best in a generation.
Part of the problem is we live in an era where we desperately want to anoint someone as the GOAT before they've even been given the chance to play, learn, and grow. Why? Because media needs the stories, clicks, and shares.
We set folks up for failure...and then when that struggle comes, we tear them down.... Why? Again, for clicks and shares.
We're killing player development in our instant gratification society. The best thing for a young kid is to struggle some...it's what leads to growth. But when we make struggle a national existential crisis...it's just insanity.
No one has any clue if Arch Manning will be fantastic with a long NFL career or just another college QB. No one. Again, just look around and see all the anointed saviors who didn't, and all of the folks people brushed off as not having it...who did.
If you're predicting a career a handful of games into there college career though...I'm sure of one thing, you're dumb.

@TheAthletic: Many people are having a bad year in college football, but Arch Manning is having one of the worst. The quarterback has gone from preseason Heisman Trophy favorite and projected No. 1 NFL Draft pick to a man synonymous with failure.
