To all aspiring young #WomenInSTEM: Mentee: Should I avoid being pregnant while trying to secure a faculty position? Me: Be pregnant & go on interviews. If they don’t welcome you with open arms and offer childcare options, they don’t deserve you. #KnowYourWorth

Grateful to @NPR for the chance to talk about how stress and infections like COVID can stir dormant viruses in our bodies, and what that may mean for our immune system. Still much to learn, and I’m thankful to my team and colleagues for their work 🎧 npr.org/2026/10/23/nx-s1-598…

Our study on virus-specific T cell activation in Long COVID (LC) is up on bioRxiv! We identify a subset of people with LC with persistently elevated activation of CD8 T cells targeting spike and/or EBV lytic antigens, consistent with viral persistence. biorxiv.org/content/10.64898…

Grateful to see the announcement of FLINTLOCK Phase 2 RCT with VYD2311 (monoclonal antibody against spike) in Long COVID and post-COVID vaccination syndrome. It will help us learn whether spike-directed therapies are helpful and for which patient subset investors.invivyd.com/news-r…

Didn't get a chance to chat with @meighanstone after her talk at this event, but she made a crucial point not to approach life with a zero-sum scarcity mindset. Don't think that long COVID folks will suffer more if scientists are also looking at other post-infection syndromes
Very much looking forward to our annual @YaleCII symposium featuring fantastic speakers 🤩 Please register and submit an abstract. Everyone is invited! (Zoom link will become available closer to the date) medicine.yale.edu/event/yale…

Why do some patients develop chronic conditions after a #ViralInfection? Scientists interested in post-infection disorders are now joining forces to find out. “Many collaborations are happening, starting from long-COVID researchers reaching out to people who’ve been doing ME/CFS research for decades,” says Dr. Akiko Iwasaki (@VirusesImmunity) from @YaleMed. 😷 go.nature.com/4xQ9otQ

#ISLCPAIS2026 abstract review. My thoughts on abstract 2 One of my fav studies which basically replicates @VirusesImmunity bigger studies in transfer of IgG from patients with #longcovid to mice. This study provides further evidence for an immune-mediated mechanism of pain in Long COVID, showing that patient-derived IgG targets peripheral sensory neurons in vivo and ex vivo. These findings strengthen the rationale for testing immunomodulatory approaches such as IVIG in carefully designed clinical trials. Importantly, funding strategies should not focus exclusively on viral persistence: the growing evidence for pathogenic autoantibodies and immune-mediated neuronal dysfunction makes immunomodulation a parallel, high-priority therapeutic avenue that warrants properly powered clinical trials. I’m surprised this is still not on the priority list
