SHINING SPOTLIGHT – PLAYER PROFILE Samantha Comeau Somerset-Berkley High School Varsity Softball Class of 2027 Uncommitted 5’5”/ Catcher/Outfielder/Right-Handed Samantha Comeau (Class of 2027) is one of the most popular, likeable, caring, team supportive and inspirational softball athletes in the South Coast Conference League and beyond. Those are all key attributes to have as an ingredient for success to have on a team. Samantha plays in the South Coast Conference, which possibly is the most competitive league in Massachusetts High School Softball as it features 6 teams in the conference in 2026 that finished in the top 20 ranked teams in the state of Massachusetts for all divisions. The conference had 8 teams that competed in the MIAA Elite 8, 5 teams competed in the MIAA Final 4, and 3 teams that competed in the MIAA State Finals Championship game. Samantha Comeau is a difference maker and played a vital role in helping her team at Somerset-Berkley make it to the Massachusetts Championship Finals for the first time in school history and ended the season as a top 10 ranked team in Massachusetts. As a team member who plays catcher and outfield on a championship finals team, she leads by example with an outstanding work ethic, competitive drive, softball IQ, skillset, talent, positive attitude, energy, likeable personality and team-first supportive mentality that has earned a high regard of respect from teammates, coaches, and opponents alike. Samantha Comeau a 2026 Boston Herald All-Scholastic, 4.75 GPA exceptional student who finished the 25 game 2026 season with a .422 batting average and a .700 slugging percentage on offense and a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage and made 163 put outs on defense is currently seeking opportunities and offers to continue her softball career in college. West Bridgwater’s Kendall Conley and Sophia Hulme each scored a goal with assists from Caroline Auger and Chloe Concannon. East Bridgewater’s Emmaline Holdsworth and Ariana Cofran each scored a goal and Chloe Schuler got an assist. Game Scoring Details: East Bridgewater’s Emmaline Holdsworth scored a goal with an assist from Chloe Schuler at 3:26 of the first half. Chloe Schuler fed a pass to Emmaline Holdsworth who dribbled past two defenders to hit the bottom corner of the left side of the net for the goal. West Bridgewater Boys Football: West Bridgewater 8 Joseph Case 35 October 23, 2026. Joseph Case defeated West Bridgewater 35-8 in a South Coast Conference game. Joseph Case was highlighted on defense by Anderson Emard who returned 2 fumbles for touchdowns for 83 yards and 43 yards. Aedan Borges rushed for 136 yards, scored on a 68-yard touchdown run and was 5 for 5 on extra-point kicks. Brett Silva had 95 yards combined rushing and receiving and scored on a 41-yard touchdown run and 4-yard run. Troy Medas recovered a fumble. West Bridgewater’s Bryce Gagne had an outstanding game as he led all rushers in the game with 166 yards on 24 carries, scored on a 15-yard touchdown run and scored on a 2-point conversion run. Jordan Costa passed for 37 yards with Jacob Bettencourt getting 29 yards on 3 receptions and Dylan Fernandes 8 yards on 1 reception. Nicholas Karas led the defense with 7 tackles including a sack and another tackle for a loss. Dylan Fernandes had an interception and 4 tackles. Jack Neilan had 5 tackles. Jake Callahan recovered a fumble. Bridgewater-Raynham won the first set 25-17, second set 25-20 and third set 25-23. Bridgewater-Raynham’s Kenley Hartsell had 14 kills. Grace Clifford had 9 kills, 1 block and 3 aces. Caitlyn Cairns had 5 kills and 5 aces. West Bridgewater’s Raelyn Gifford had 8 kills, 9 digs and was 15/15 serving including 3 aces. Ella Holden had 19 assists and 3 kills. The lady Wildcats have accomplished another first for the program, as they are now ranked at #5 in the MIAA in their division. This is the highest rank achieved for the volleyball program in its history at West Bridgewater High School. West Bridgewater and its strong defense have not allowed a goal against an opponent in 12 different games in the 2026 season. Goalkeeper Allie Edgerly earned her 12th shutout defending the net. Sarah Diedrichsen powered the offense for the Wildcats, scoring 3 goals for a hat trick. Haylee Krakowski, Brianna LaGrange and Kaitlyn Barry each scored 1 goal for West Bridgewater in the win.
